Abbie W. Werner

Abbie has over 10 years of experience working in higher education in the areas of student advising and university development. She is currently pursuing an Educational Specialist degree in the area of Instructional Design and Technology at Virginia Tech. Her academic and research interests include incorporating creativity into instructional design, the use of e-portfolios for the assessment of student learning, and the development of open learning resources for the digital learner. In her non-academic life, Abbie enjoys spending time with her husband and son, visiting her favorite North Carolina beaches for extended vacations, kayaking and canoeing on local waters, and turning long hikes into grand adventures.
